What is a "Rural Transit Area"?
Ottawa’s rural areas receive a different level of OC Transpo service from that in the urban area. Within the Rural Transit Area ( RTA), there are two different service levels: RTA ”A” and RTA ”B.” Both areas have ParaTranspo service. RTA ”A” receives some limited OC Transpo Service (generally rush hour to and from the urban area) whereas there is no OC Transpo bus service in RTA ”B.” Approximately 1/3 of the rural residents live in RTA “B.”
